Detailed the inside of my W211

How do you experts get to the fiddly and hard to reach areas (like around the bonnet hinges and around all the gubbins bolted to the inner wings) and get them so clean? Do you unbolt everything or just reach in with fine brushes, chemicals and the like?

I just uses detailing brushes buddy and a hand pump pressurised bottle filled with soapy water. I just then use microfiber towel to pat dry but an old cotton rag will do until its nice looking 👍

Your car looks superb.

I like mine to be clean and tidy (especially on the inside) but I wouldn't have the patience or skill to have the exterior look like yours 👍👍

I still think that the 211 is one of the best looking designs from MB.
Doesn’t need patience, just time, and follow the step by step process of washing the outside.

The hardest part for me is taking all the things needed for washing out and putting everything back.

Takes me all in 3 hours from start to finish. Wash mine every 3rd or 4th week.
Having it ceramic coated, does help the car and the cleaning process, especially the wheels, just blast with jetwasher, and then clean using only car shampoo.

Do enjoy it though, can get away from everything, just me on my own, very therapeutic.

Absolutely agree on the W211, design is perfect, it was my first Merc.

It was this that put me on the road to mercedes ownership. I simply had to have it. :)

AMG logo on my W212 floor mat was slightly dirty. After a quick gentle clean they came out like new, can now see the silver stitching which is pleasing to see 😀

I just bought one of those Vax spotwash machines on a bit of a whim but i'm really impressed. Great for floor mats and they are left almost dry. My mats i thought were really clean but loads of dirt still came out of them.

That's what I used buddy, its my first use on these mats 👍

^ My missus has one of these Vax carpet cleaners with the small attachment for stairs.
I wonder if I can get her to clean my car mats. They are looking pretty grubby. I'd make it worth her while;)

Seriously, I have some major cleaning to do before BOTG next month along with repainting the disc centres and calipers with silver hammerite, a polishing session with the rotary and a complete detailing inside the car. At least the weather looking promising for next week.

Now that’s taking it seriously. I’ll have to put some petrol in mine, but that’s about it!

The VAX machine small head attachment is fantastic for cleaning convertible hoods :rock:

JCT was at BOTG doing his magic on a few cars. I managed to pull him away from a job to get an appraisal on mine, scored a healthy 10 out of 10. He recommended various products but the one that caught my eyes was Zvizzer, will give that a try. Thanks, was nice to meet you and your team.👍

Had a whole day to myself, so gave the car a gentle spruce up. Not much needing, just keeping on top. The inside of the bonnet was polished up and engine wiped down. The seats still smell and look like new, so it only needed a gentle wipe with damp microfiber cloth to remove any dust. Apart from that not much else to report 🙂

Bring on summer ☀️ 🙂
