Lol.....and today is first day of four days off.....and I'm drinking lager at 6.30 watching my son cricket training on a village cricket green by the sea!....and it's warm and sunny...How much more British can you get?......time for another.....that will fix the grumpyness!

Lager? For true cricket- in- the- sunshine Britishness, surely it should be a pint of mild?
Enjoy anyway:cool:

As others have said, there are only so many diamond cuts you can do so you need to bear that in mind.

As regards to black paint on wheels I'm not a fan. I've spent a lot of time looking at more recent Es and Cs and they all seem to have black or grey paint between the spokes.

Personally I'd just do them brilliant silver and they'll pop.

Other opinions exist etc

Yep, that's the million dollar question with any change of wheel colour.🤔
Well, on the plus side it's not a million dollars, on the minus side one can buy a lot of hot wings for £320+VAT!

Your wheels are mostly brilliant silver, but I think they also have a lot of black to create a thin-spoke effect. With all brilliant silver you will have a "more pronounced" wheel than you have now.

Which is why I leave mine pitted, until I am forced to refurb because of leaks. Between Nov and Apr I run mine on crap wheels with winter tyres, which may help (but because I always buy used cars, the damage has already been done).

I did my wheels dark gunmetal as I don't like black wheels on a black car and anthracite was still too dark for my liking.

But will it suit the colour and allow-style of your car? That's the thing that I always struggle with.
I totally agree. This is the only reason I’m reluctant to stray away from the original black inner and diamond face. The black suits the Night Pack details and the diamond cut adds some subtle distinction. It’s the very thing that we loved about the car and why we bought it.

I just can’t get my head around paying out for something that I know will not last. 🤪

Well, this is cars we are talking about: fuel, oil, spark plugs, tyres, none of these lasts. The difference is pitted wheels are ok; worn tyres are not. :-) And this is a working car, you don't keep it for shows etc, it will never be perfect.

Some great points made. BUT it does seem foolish to pay for something that you just know has limited shelve life/looks when there are more durable options on offer.

The car is booked in for a week on Monday so will have to decide by then. 🫣

Matt black all over with a cut outter lip like the latest C43. The outta edge will probably corrode but never looks half as bad.

Change the centre caps too and it'll look like a new car.

I had mine done with diamond cut, during the hot summer of 2021 with working from home in full swing. I kept them in the shed for the first 3 months (from spring), and had them on the car 4 months in hot dry weather with virtually no miles. 7 months in, milky corrosion as starting under the lacquer. They had a 6 month warranty, but even if I'd noticed at 5 months, they couldn't have been repaired and re-diamond cut under warranty as they had already reached the limit of metal removal. Another disadvantage of getting diamond cut refurb is that the rims and spokes get noticeably fatter/thicker as you cut back, because you are cutting into the ever widening part of the rim/spokes. This has also had the impact of slightly starting to take the metal off the 'AMG' cast lettering on the rim.

I wish I'd just gone shadow chrome or hyper silver.

Another option (I think posted by @Spider10 ) is to get them painted in the appearance of diamond cut. I can't find a link to the thread now, but I personally thought that looked like a good compromise, not noticeably to the passing eye, unless you really got down on hands and knees to inspect.
