Did I used the right Oil ?

I wouldn't use it , and as for your 15W40 viscosity... we use 0/5W-30 C3 in our Euro 5 and Euro 6 diesel Mercs , you are not going to convince me or anyone else here Mr Bellow to start using 10W30 or 15W40 heavy truck oil .

So it's best you discontinue your retarded futile crusade .

In both my MB’s , the E320cdi and the CLK200 I just use any oil that says 229.51 or 229.5 written on it .
I‘ve used the bulk MB cubes , Castrol , Shell , whatever is in a sale that I can get cheap . Currently working on two tubs of 20L Mannol at the moment that I got crazy cheap on eBay .
I normally just change the oil and filter every 6k whenever it comes up which is normally 8-10 months
:).
As I have non understanding of oil whatsoever that’s my solution.

5 pages over oil? There's a guy on Youtube who commits mass genocide on lawn mowers so that you can learn everything you need to know about oil. Look up Project Farm

For that to happen someone would of had to test under the same conditions both your 10W30 Monolec Ultra Diesel oil and a VW 504.00 507.00.

Do we know in what way does the VW oil not meet MB229.52?

I am assuming it doesn't meet the MB spec on at least one aspect of the spec, or VW would have included the MB spec in their oil's spec list?

229.52 exceeds in fuel economy , 504.00 507.00 exceeds in wear protection , you can't have both .

You can have both but it's a rare combination like Mobil 1 ESP and a hefty £50 from Opie Oils.

Down to ingredients , more expensive for one oil to then have an almost complete performance profile .
