Just had a service on my 2 year old E220CDI (12,700m), at my local M.B outlet.
On the way home I noticed a vast increase in power that I hadn't experienced in this car before.
After a couple of days, the M.B people called to ask if I was satisfied with their service & I asked the bloke if they had touched the timing or anything to do with the running, but he said "No - why ?". I told him of the extra oooomph (technical term) & he said that all they do is add a bottle of Wurth to the fuel tank.
He explained that whilst it isn't the cheapest stuff in the World, they very often get the same comments as mine.
I seem to be getting an extra 3/4 mpg, but as the puter was re-set, it buggered up my 'test'. I topped up yesterday, so am doing another mpg test.
Obviously I have no idea of permenant effects, or whether my car is too new to bother with such things - but boy has it made a difference.

PS: What's the difference between Diesel Add & Common Rail diesel adds ?

I doubt a car with that little mileage would be affected by any additives! Not knocking all additives as I have used Forte in the past which I feel is one of a minority of additives worth (sic!) using.....

I imagine you are more likely to be experiencing the placebo effect of a freshly serviced car.....

Well the Wurth additive has a cetane booster so IF the car's ECU can make use of it then some exra power would be possible.

Cdi (common rail injection) uses a very very high pressure pump
Which is lubricated and cooled by the diesel as it passes
Through .some additives use parafin which is like filling your
Tank with petrol ,does not lubricate the pump enough and can
Cause the pump to sieze in turn locking the chain and destroying the engine.
