Diff Seals

How much would I be looking to pay (independently) to change these as mine could do with a change. Approx. C230 K Sport 1997.

MB did mine and it came to approx £600 so I guess you could half that with an indie.

I did the side seals on the E300TD, its not too complicated. Need a ramp tho and be carefull as they are heavy.

Agreed....but thats main dealer labour charges for you. Got mine done under warranty

£600 for all three seals is about right at a dealer.

The pinion seal is the one that takes the time.

Totally agree with you Olly ,
the pinion seal need to be done by a pro, its a tricky one and it was daunting me and I could never have done it

If it is the pinion seal then DO make sure you get someone who knows what they are doing (preferably an experienced indie). It's very easy to wreck the pinion bearings and then you are looking at a diff rebuild.

Rear diff I think. Its leaking a touch.

Just had mine done on my R129. Mercedes dealer quoted me over £800 so I took it to AMC in Earlsfied who did it for £380. Parts cos about a tenner. It's all labour. Seeing as the cost of parts is negligible, it seems worthwhile getting all three seals done whilst they've got it all apart, even if they are not all leaking.
