just wondering, has anyone ever had diff problems with a manual c180 w202? had to get mine replaced recently  and the replacement seems to have a lot of free play in it. been driving front wheel drive for a long time so not sure whats normal any more. by free play i mean when i have the car jacked up i can turn the drive shaft about 10 degrees left and right. if i need another replacement are the ratios in an auto the same??? as manual non traction control ones are a bit thin on the ground . cheers

Manuals ones are miles away from autos ratio wise, there's always a bit of play in a diff, it's only ususally the diff seals failing and all the oil leaking out which kills those diffs...

that would explain the oily hunk of metal the garage threw in my nice clean boot after he replaced it then:rolleyes: . new one was bone dry so i will wipe that worry off the list i hope
