Disconnecting the battery

Sorry if this is a silly question but I have read that if the batteries are taken out of the key fob they will need reprograming.

What about if I disconnect the main car battery to do some work on the car, will the fobs need to be reprogrammed when the car battery is reconnected?

The car is a 99 SLK with the two button remote.

Thanks
Marc

Thanks, I just didn't want to disconnect the battery and no remote locking (or any other faults) when I reconnect it.

Why do you want to disconnect the battery?
You might have problems with the radio or alarms coming up on dash, which needs steering and perhaps windows to be reset.

Hi, I'm fitting a remote one touch roof module and it advises to disconnect the battery.

I have a different radio fitted so that will be ok but how do I reset the alarm/steering etc
Thanks again for any help
