Do you clean your microfibre drying cloths?

Cool wash , tumble cold

Yep, I use the Gyeon towel wash in the washing machine

I use Chemical Guys Microfibre wash at 40c and then tumble dry on low heat.

Is there any advantage to tumble drying over line drying?

Ted the skinflint.

1. Washing machine 40C or less.
2. NO fabric conditioner. It will wreck the microfibre.
3 We normally air dry either on the outside clothes line (dusters) or hung over the edge of the Belfast sink in the utility.

Been doing this for years, have never resorted to the tumble dryer for them but would only use cool temp if trying it.

No idea. You’ll have to ask Mrs TC

The cloths come out really soft and the tumbling helps fluff up the fibres

Wife says the same about our towels and always uses the tumble dryer for them (and catches the water output from the TD to use in her steam iron). IMHO expensive way of drying towels, but hey - I like a quiet life!!

What detergent?

I treat mine like towels.

Never, ever any detergent. I use baking soda, but usually I’ll bang an (empty) boil wash with loads of baking soda in before to clean my machine. It’s good practice to do this every so often anyway.

Then, wash 40°C to 60°C. Extra rinse. Dry, and then tumble dry on low to re-fluff the towels.

Honestly, no I don't wash them at all. I can buy a pack of 25 cloths for very little so easier to use them, throw them out when no longer usable and buy another pack. Generally two packs lasts me all year hear when using one for washing, one for drying, one for polish on, one for polish off, one for interior polishes etc etc.
