Im looking to replace my W211 with yes another W211 e class. Been looking at few adverts and am i right in thinking if the car has an aerial on the roof it will have telephone pre wire?

It will have a split down the middle of the centre armrest too.....

Now my experience of e class is they all have the split as that is just a compartment??

I seen a car recently w211 facelift and the owner doesnt think it has phone prewire even though it has an aerial on top. Its too far to travel to check so thought i would ask on the forum.

Get the VIN and we can check it for you.

Or ask the owner to look in the centre armrest for a triangular plastic cap, the connector for the phone cradle.

Thanks whitenemesis. I guess if it has you can see the wires in the bottom of the centre console and yes of course the cap. I will get the owner to check. I guess my question originated from the fact that i thought a aerial on a e-class meant telephone prewire as its part of the prewire kit. Unless its the radio aerial......

No...without telephone pre-wire the centre armrest has a one piece cover on it. With a phone kit it is split into 2 flaps that open. It also has the roof aerial of course.....

I just checked... i stand corrected! The ones without an aerial on the roof dont have the split down the centre armrest hence no phone prewire.
