If so, who has?

There is so much chat about the C63 and the C250 CDI, but we never hear about the 350 petrol? Any owners out there? What are your thoughts on the car?

According to howmanyleft.co.uk there's not many of them on the road!

My mate has a c350 petrol coupe. I have a 250 diesel otherwise exactly the same spec. We swap occasionally depending on mood/type of driving required. Best of both worlds.

Wanted to, but the lack of the Handling pack option killed it for me (and several others I know) so had to settle for the C250 instead. Bonkers decision by MB - apparently so as to not harm E class sales

I seem to be one of a very few people who've taken the plunge into a C350 Coupe. And I'm glad I did! One of the things I wanted was a bit of exclusivity in a class and budget that is very difficult to find.

Before ordering, I tried a number of models/ engines and fell in love with the 3.5L V6 (albeit having only driven it in an E Coupe and SLK on test drives as there were none available anywhere in the C Coupe to test). Through the whole buying process I was misquoted a couple of times, to be buying a saloon (ie cos they thought it was the C350 CDi I ordered) or a C250 Coupe as that was the most common model.

Happy to say I'm loving it.

There wasn't the choice of a handling pack when I bought mine back in April/ May, but I certainly don't think the car is missing any Va Va Voom as it is - particularly in Sport mode.

I have the C350 Sport petrol saloon and can confirm that it's brilliant. The sound, smoothness and performance of that beautiful V6 is a total joy. The only negative is the slight rattle at tickover that's apparently something to do with the direct injection. But it's still whisper quiet in comparison to diesels at tickover, especially when cold!

In conjunction with the Dynamic Handling Pack it's amazing. So good infact that it could well be the reaason for Mercedes not offering it on the coupe, because it would stop the need for anyone wanting to buy any of their other performance cars!

the 3.5 litre V6 petrol is a very decent engine there are not that many about
we have ours in an EClass Estate
im sure if its the engine you wish to discuss some of the info will be comparable

The Coupe comes with stop-start, so no rattle at all an idle:thumb:

The 350 C saved my beloved life. So I'm a very big fan, indirectly

Someone turned right at a no right turn and she hit his front wheel at around 50 mph, she didn't have time to brake.

I would.

It would need to do 25mpg to pay it's way on my car allowance scheme.

I'm one of the few petrol 5-series drivers and would see no reason not to do the same with an E-class.

lol ... Stop-start on the saloon too, but not when I've taken the car out of the garage in the morning then leave it running for a few seconds while I get out to shut the garage door. I suppose I could overcome the problem of hearing that tiny rattle by fitting an electric door to the garage and operating it remotely from inside the car where the rattle can't be heard!

How about giving us some detail on the comparison?

I've only ever seen one on MB's used car web site. I think they come with the handling pack now though.

No they don't have the handling pack option. The 350 used to have the Dynamic handling pack option, prior to the model changes in June this year. Now only the 100bhp-less 250 models get the AMG handling pack option

Oh right I see. Is the adaptive dampers something different then?

I have the 350 Coupe. Far and away the best car I have owned. Great performance and economy. Got 35.8 to and from Manchester for the football on Saturday, all sorts of different serving over about 190 miles. Amazing specification too. Very pleased and I cannot fault it in any way.

Couldn't agree more. It's the best car I've owned too, but then again I came from an Alfa GT:eek:

I think the 350 petrol engine is generally rare across the whole Merc range.
W140 320 was probably last of big engine petrol major sellers
