The usual crap. There is a legal requirement that the car must be capeable of showing kph. Quality manufacturers such as Renault mange to give their customers the option of changing the display.... Something MB have forgotten.
The setting can sometimes be changed, but it needs someone with STAR to delete the UK coding.
Or possibly that MB wish to comply with the legal requirements of the country in which they sell their vehicles?
It says the speed can be displayed in mph or km/h (United Kingdom)
Surely that means I can change it to mph?
No. MB can't be bothered..

You know that for a fact or just supposition?
If Renault can put a system in that gives mph at one time, or kph at another, but not at the same time legally, then why can't MB [/QUOTE
I doubt either of us know the true and intended meaning legally but I suspect that MB and their lawyers have interpreted it as needing to display KPH to avoid any legal challenges?
Ultimately it matters not

Why put a light in the cup holder but not in the pitch black, cave like arm rest compartment?!
