Can anyone tell me what this switch does?
Its located in the ECU compartment on the passenger side next to the windscreen.

The car is a early 90's 500SL R129 shape. there is no air mass sensor that i could find in the air system but i found this switch and wandered what its for?

nothing in the book about it apart from it being a AIR MAS METER control unit, i cant understand why it has a switch on it apart from it could be something to do with performance to enrich air flow, interesting ill have to look into it

Its main job is a fuel pump relay...
If you twist it, the outer metal casing will push the unit out, it is basically just to lock it down into the plug securely...AFAIK

that sounds like a good enough answer to me, a lock ... dont get many of them engines to play with
