I get an annoying wind noise from the drivers door. It goes away when I push gently on the window. Any easy fixes?

Thanks

Is the window right the way up?
Is it the window seal or the door seal?

For door seal -
An old dodge is to lower the window and bash the frame with the palm of you hand in towards the car, with the door open.
Another is to go around the tongue of metal under the rubber seal of the door frame with a soft hammer and bash it out towards the door.

After a few thousand slammings of the car door, especially the driver's one, the seals deform and require gentle readjustment.

Hi Bryce, i get a bit on my W208 CLK but they are pillarless after all. The seals both window and doors are prone to going on the 208 which causes both sticking of windows when winding up or down and little more noise, merc scandalously charge £1600 to replace all windows and door seals, £800 for seals and 8hours work (£100 an hour). Worth getting local specialist garage to quote too!! ive not asked my guys yet as its not as bad on my new one as my old one (terrible on that) but i have a 3rd party warranty too so might try and claim :)

What? - £800 labour to biff the tongue on the door frame with a rubber mallet?

My mate showed me and did my old Volvo 245 in about 10 minutes whilst we were hanging around in a car park waiting for the wife. The tongue on the merc is well concealed and harder to pull the seal off, but it is still there.

Sorry it's on a cls. And it's the top part of the window towards front, so the pillar frame seal if that makes sense...

quite a scary figure really, would be interesting to see all the different door and window seals but not sure it justifies £1600 price tag!!

woudl the CLS not be under warranty Bryce? be worth getting that single seal checked.

Isn't the warranty just 3years? Mine is a 05/55

Ah maybe it will be then didnt realise. There are different periods for different parts of the car as we know like paint being longer etc so cant hurt calling can it i suppose.
