Has anyone succeeded in fitting a Double DIN satnav, or even more interesting, a floating touchscreen into a 190?
If so, would love to see a photo of how you managed this.
I realise there is an easy option, a fold out screen using the single DIN hole, but really I feel that the screen should be high in the dash, perhaps even in the centre air vent hole, to be easily used

Search for "w201 taxi console". Simples

Double din fits straight in to the taxi console and doesn't look "too" out of place.

A floater will look hideous

Thanks, that looks neat. Have you used one though, it seems pretty low down to follow a satnav map safely?

It's a old car so anything is going to be a compromise. If a sat nav is the most important thing I'd just buy one of those £79 dash top mounted car play unit thingies

I've got to say, although the Beemer has an all singing, all dancing sat nav facility, I still prefer my 100 quid from Halfrauds stick on the windscreen Garmin. Simply to use and far more accurate in my experience too.

Yes, the built in infotainment systems have both advantages and disadvantages. Quite a few advantages to a good stand alone system

Or just Google Maps or Waze on your 'phone

That's what them units are really, just an extension of your fone.. For the money they are quite good really. My old Volvo
