I'd be trying warm soapy water with a softish nail brush or something...

As above, very soft brush make sure the seat is dry then apply Gliptone leather cleaner using a MF cloth that will shift the Jean transfer, only problem with light coloured seats, I use a tailored cover on my seat base.

There was a member who was an exponent of hair conditioner for cleaning light coloured leather seats. Seemed to work for him.

thanks Guy's i will try all of the above, i will let you know what worked

Speak to Judy at LTT of Harrogate, they have a 2 stage cleaning product for dye transfer that costs £25, give her a call for advice, tell her your on the MB forum, should get 10% discount.
Also try a strong general cleaner like Autosmart G101 using a soft nail brush, dont scrub just agitate the surface.
If the above does not shift it, then I am afraid you will have to get the leather re-coloured by a leather technician, your local MB dealer will use one i am sure!

I've tried this for jeans dye on to light grey leather
Tresemme hair conditioner is what you need my seats have never looked as good and leaves them nice and supple

You can use fabric/leather solvents
Be very careful as its strong and to much
Rubbing will remove the seat colour
Use cotton wool in a dabbing motion to transfer
the blue to the wool .recondition after as it takes
out the leathers moisture !!

Not tried that one interesting ;)

I have used baby wipes to remove the dye transfer, and it seems to do the trick!

just a wee update, tried the Tresemme, didnt move the stain, but done a great job on the rest of the seats, so i'm still left with this stain/dye, i have oreded a light grey dye, has aanyone one used before, how near to the original colour is it.

thanks for all the replies

Dye kits normally come with toners to darken or lighten the colour. The Gliptone scuff master kit I bought certainly did.

As the coating for the leather is vinyl based, try some of the servisol vinyl cleaner I have just used - just a dab to start.

The coatings used to finish leather on MB is all water based so I would go steady with vinyl cleaner not saying it won't work but I'd try on an inconspicuous area first

I had this on the leather on my E Class, alpaca grey, and used a mix of All Purpose Cleaner from the supermarket, about 99p for 500ml, and some engine cleaner.

Poured it into a garden sprayer with 75% APC and the rest engine cleaner.

Sprayed it onto the leather and then used a Meguiars interior brush and lightly scrubbed it.

Then carried on using it for the next 60k miles, great for pulling the grease and grime out of the leather.
The leather is spray painted so be a bit careful, go at it too hard and you will take the paint off. But nothing to loose if you're thinking of dying it anyway.

I use the furniture clinic kit, small will be fine for that, comes with a spray gun and really easy to use. I have done a couple now.

Hi Guys, just thought i would give you an update, i tried most of the suggestion provided and some other advised products, but to no avail, so i found a chap that does repairs to leather car seats, it took him just about 2hours to correct the seat, he has made a fantastic job.
