Hi all
I need help please, my partners e class cabriolet front seat is stuck forward, I mean bent forward not pushed towards the screen on its rails, kids released the latch to get out as normal and after this the seat will no longer push back Into it's normal position.
I have looked and can see that it has two wires running dow the back of the seat one to theft latch and one to the right.
My friend has taken out the seat and cannot figure out what's stopping it now and that it could cost a fortune to fix?
Can anyone help please its stressing me out now
Thanks all

Do you mean the seat back has folded forward as it is supposed to do but now will not return?

As for costing a foortune to fix, get it diagnosed first. Do you have a Mercedes independent specialist nearby? They may well have seen it before but regardless they will be a lot cheaper than a dealer. It sounds like the relase cabl may have broken or the handle that operates the cable.

It might helo to get more specific answers if you tell us what year the car is, does it have electric or manual seats etc and possibly post any pictures of the seat now it is removed from the car.

As for stressing you out, it is a mechanical device, they break and they can be repaired.

Thankyou yes I mean its stuck folded forward.

Sorry the car is a 2013 Mercedes E Class Cabriolet with electric seats and air scarf, however yes the seat is manual in respect of the fold operation.

I'll try and track down a specialist.

Thankyou
