Hi,

I have a set of winter tyres on genuine MB AMG alloys for my W213 E-Class. Unfortunately these do not have TPMS valves so the warning light glows permanently on my dashboard when they are fitted.

I've just been quoted around £250 for the supply of TPMS valves from my local dealer plus the cost of fitting.

Has anyone found a good alternative to this that I could perhaps use? Obviously wary of cheap and unreliable non-OEM valves but the MB prices are a bit steep.

Any advice most welcome e.g. are there any compatiblity issues I should be aware of?

The TPMS valves are programmed to car. I am just wondering, will you now need to reprogram the TPMS valves again when changing back to summer tyres, or can the car have two different sets of TPMS valves programmed to it at the same time?

I have a set of 18"s and 19" with TPMS , when I change them over I've not had to reprogram anything.

My wife's GLC winter wheels were bought second hand but were thankfully fitted with monitors already. The TPMS picked them up as soon as she started driving. I want to fit tyre pressure monitors to my winter wheels (also bought second hand but missing tyre pressure monitors).

Ecp sells them.

Reply #5 shows the I-sensor (Kwik-fit are only one of their agents).
They are imported by AutoGem in Park Royal, West London, and I can say from personal experience they work very well.
Available with either a bolt in metal valve (Alu-alloy prone to galvanic corrosion) or a snap in rubber valve.
The biggest benefit other than reduced cost compared with a "Stealer" is that they are manufactured as blanks which are then programmed to fit. Clone your first set and the car can't tell the difference. Change your car? have them reprogrammed with the new protocols. Simples
Them or their equivalent in another brand available at any reputable tyre shop.

get the autel ones from ebay, work a treat, get the small programmer too as you will need this to program to the car

I have 2 sets of 19s so 8 tpms valves and they all work fine. Even if I split the sets.

Sorry for the threadjack but I've a 2015 W246 and one of the TPMS has died, anyone know if I can purchase one that won't need activating to wake up for the self learning system to pick it up? MOT the end of the month and typically a light appears on the dash

Have the dead one cloned with I-sensor, the car won't know the difference.
TPMS - Autogem
This is the company, ask them for a provider near you.
The company I work for uses these. I don't have any affiliation with Autogem

Well I finally got around to getting the TPMS looked at, tyre fitter took the suspected wheel off and removed the tyre, tested the sensor and it was working fine, checked the other three and they too were all broadcasting fine, he said no point in changing a working sensor and put the tyre back on and didn't charge, unfortunately I now have an MOT due and its a fail with TPMS light on, it has only ever shown the same sensor as missing but the sensor works, anyone know if the TPMS can be removed from the system?
