Greetings, i need some suggestions or advices on suspension components. I am 99% sure i need new shock absorbers and need your help on choosing the correct or most adequate parts. My car, an e class coupe from 2009 (c207), has dynamic handling (electronically adjustable shocks) which is why it is a little harder finding parts. I don't know who made the shocks for my model, but my first option would be Sachs. The thing is, there are no electronically adjustable shocks in autodocs offer, only sport suspension and standard suspension. I don't actually mind getting the standard from sachs since i find the car very uncomfortable, even with 17s on (the uncomfort might come from the blown shocks though). The next is Meyle, its parts are more affordable but are not oem parts and no electronically adjustables in their offer. The only two brands that offer electronically adjustables are Monroe and Bilstein. Monroes are about 5 times less expensive than the Bilstein so i don't know whether there is a debate. How do i approach this? What would you do? This is something that has to be done, along with complete control arms replacement

Technically you are looking to replace the dampers.

The springs absorb the shocks from the road. Probably better to replace as complete units.

Personally I would go for genuine MB or Sachs (which are MB OEM anyway), or Bilstein.

I wouldn't fit Monroes. I don't have experience with Meyle, they might be fine but I wouldn't chance it.

Both Sachs and Bilstein have very good online catalogues that will help you pinpoint the model you need for your C207 with the electronically adjustable dampers (or they will specify that it is not available in the event that they don't make these dampers).

As for springs, it's never a bad idea to replace suspension components on an old car, but I would only buy genuine MB to ensure the correct spring rate.

Try the AUTODOC app or website , I assume they will deliver to you ?
As above I would go Sachs , that’s what came off my E class .

I don't know what were the oems, i would also prefer them. Sachs does not make the electronically adjustable ones and Billstein are like 900 euros for one damper. I know monroe is not ideal but are the only besides Billstein that make the correct part.

I am searching on autodoc. Only electronically adjustable ones are monroe and 900 euros Billstein. I would prefer Sachs but do i chose the sport variant without any electronics or just the regular ones. If regular ones, i'd probably have to replace other parts too

How much are the genuine MB dampers compared to Bilstein?

Compare an 09 with a very late 2016 and go the used route is an option .

After inspecting the suspension, it turns out my car is equipped with monroe struts. I'm not sure whether they've been replaced before and the previous owner decided to save some money, but all four of them are monroe branded and they also have a mercedes star stamped, which tells me they are most likely oem. I'm probably going to buy monroes, but i've decided to replace the whole assembly. The rubber dust cover, absorber, spring and mount. The thing is, i'd have to make some combination of manufacturers.
1.springs are only available from eibach and for the front axle there are two variants:
- 360 mm for vehicles with electronic suspension control and sport suspension
- 322 mm (single spring pro kit) for vehicles with sports suspension
So which one, i have sport appearance and electronic control, do i take the first?
2.strut mount
manufacturer does not matter that much, just dont know if i'm leaving something out: with or without ball bearing
anyone's opinion is welcomed

I didn't know MB used Monroe. I have only ever seen Sachs and Bilstein. And possible Boge?

Whatever the make if there's a mb star there should be a mb part number . My GLC uses bilstein and clearly display a mb pn. 👍👍
