e200 engine management light

i own a 2004 model and 3 months ago the engine management light came on and a week later it repaired itself.it is now on again and i am concerned that by waiting for it to correct itself i might do engine damage. anyone help?

i am still driving but am concerned about long term damage!!!!

Facelift or pre-facelift? If pre, wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't just one of the electrical gremlins having fun

Best bet is to get it on STAR to get the codes read and go from there....

thanks kwak, the light has now gone off again so i guess ill wait untill the next time
