I have just bought an E class 212 new from MB, the salesman said I could add Becker Satnav but when I got the car home there was no wiring. Plan B was to buy a good TomTom - GO Live 1005 - and work out where to put it. Just in case it helps others, I found that the TOMTOM ( 5" ) pushed into the MB screen area and fitted smoothly, only problem was the on/off switch on the TT was rubbing on the MB screen surround and turning it off. I fitted a strip of Velcro, problem solved. It really does fit well and looks like a built-in screen if left in when parked. OK it does not charge but I then stuck the reverse Velcro on the top underside of the MB screen surround ( hard to see ) I can now plug in the charging lead with the plug resting on the surround and the Velcro keeping everything in place. Nothing like as neat as unplugged version. Yes I know it hides the MB screen but I only use Satnav rarely. When not in position I charge it in the centre consul via the USB socket so it is usually fully charged. At £199 it is a bit cheaper that Nav2. and free for life map updates although only 3 years free TomTom live, It does have voice recognition for address inputs and camera warnings etc.
