E220 cabrio 1994: roof stuck

Have inherited above model with the roof stuck in the down position (of course).

Is there a manual override?

Where can I procure an owners manual?

Any recommended specialists near Bedford?

There is a bolt facing you between the rear seat backrest and the softop storage compartment. With an open ended spanner [ normally supplied with the tool kit in the boot] turn the bolt clockwise looking towards the rear of the car. This should open the storage compartment. Then with assistance [THIS IS DEFFO A 2 MAN JOB] CAREFULLY manually raise the softop and unfold it. You will have to fold down the rear window part towards the rear. Then do up all the retaining clips in particular the two on the top of the windscreen. You should do this with all the windows down ditto the roll bar if its up. You should be able to get an owners manual from your nearest MB dealer. Make sure its for the cabriolet.
