E270 CDI Kickdown problem....advice please!

Hi All

This weekend our 52 plate E270CDI seems to have developed a problem with acceleration above 2000rpm. Basically the car engages top gear and won't kickdown when you put the pedal to the floor.

This problem seems to be intermittent as it was fine yesterday, but today the issue has come back again.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?

Has it gone into limp home mode I wonder?

Quite possibly it has gone into limp home mode, but I just don't know what's causing it to do that. It recently had a service with fuel filter and air filter changed etc....I'm not sure if that has got something to do with it.....

It has a lack of power due to an engine component becoming faulty. Get it on a Star diag machine to find out. There are MANY things that can cause it.

I had this on a C-class back in the 90s - it was the carpet causing the kick-down button to malfunction.
