E280 estate boot rust

After washing my much loved new ( only just 3yr old ) car today I've discovered a bubble of rust to the right of the rear number plate about the size of a penny. Contacted merc and they want to inspect it and submit a report to HQ. At the same time have a look at the rear boot not lifting fully unless the air temp is warm and the rear load cover not lifting when you open the boot.

They really ought to sort the rust on a just out of warranty car, but they don't always play ball, using stone chips amongst other excuses.
