does anyone know if the tickover on a e300 diesel w210 1996 can be adjusted mine has always ticked over at about 750 where as my wifes ticks over at 600 i know i can adjust the 124 e300 i own but this one has the drive by wire pump and i cant see anyway to adjust the tickover

It's adjustable using a hand-held MB code reader. Ask your local dealer

At the accelerator cable in the engine bay (near brake fluid reservoir), theres a potentiometer. On the cable theres a little plastic nut you can screw up and down, this will adjust the resting position of the accelerator cable. A bit like the brakes on a bicycle.

It can make your gearchanges rougher though.

i was lent a full mercedes computer out of the back door of a merc dealer and used it on my car the tickover can be temporarily raised and lowered but it cannot be permanantly changed has anyone got any ideas as to how to lower the tickover the car was showing 2 faults which i erased then ran the car and read it again it is now showing no faults the only other thing i can think is the pump timing may be out
