One of our E300TDs has its MOT today.
Holding my breath a little, as we bought it from a dealer at "Bargain Basement" price at this time last year.
He was desperate to sell it and offered it with 12 months MOT and 6 months tax at a good price.
Before I got it home, the warning was on telling me that the rear brake pads were at the end of their life.
I fitted new pads and discs and that was sorted.

Since then, it's been serviced by myself.
I can't really find anything else dodgy about it.
But there's still that niggling doubt.
Was the MOT a good one or not ?

The moment of truth is today !!

Cheers

The moment of truth was good.

Passed with flying colours.
No advisories ... Just good news !!

That's great to hear. :thumb:

My W202 passed it's MOT last week with the same result. :)

well done! Mine went in this morning and also passed with no advisories :bannana:

Mine went in in April, and passed with an advisory.

The advisory stated that one tyre was down to 5mm...

So what was the advisory? Corner harder on the relevant corner to bring the tyre down to the same depth

The advisory was on a worn tyre, which was complete bol-x. The garage owner said his tester was a bit keen...

So I said thank for the advisory on a tyre just about half worn... Pillocks!

Actually I got the story wrong. The advisory was on a worn tyre, or tyre getting near the legal limit, whatever the stock phrase is.

When the car was serviced over three months later, their service checks measured all 4 tyres at 5mm...

Some garages do seem to have got a bit keen at MOT time.

Last year my car got one for front brake pads worn down, so this year I changed them and disks just to be sure...even though they still weren't down to the wear sensors...

The MOT station I use have installed a new ramp that does all the steering wiggling about and lock to lock simulation etc all for you. I was well impressed with it :thumb: It saves on all the "what!" when you can't here the tester under the vehicle with the engine running :D

My other beast is due its test early next month.
Better give that one a coat of looking at ... Just in case.
Especially as this is the one that does most of the hard work.

(Mrs J's is more a "posing-mobile") !!

Cheers.
