im a cheaffuer driver in london an drive a e320 cdi 05 reg . been told the v6 model is a nicer drive but can anyone tell me how they compare on fuel consumption?

Hello

I have the straight 6 IL6 engine and on a run 40 to 45 quite easily. My neighbour has a V6 version and he says it's almost 5 to 10mpg less.

It is meant to be smoother however. You may be best looking for a late IL6 model with air suspension best of both worlds then.

What sort of journeys is it used for? I would think round town they would be similar? 20 to 25 I guess in London traffic?

yeah getting the same from mine . for a big engine its wicked on diesel just thought id update it but will stay with it now . had the new e350 cdi for a few days recently . sex on wheels an even better mpg

Mine also has the Brabus D6 which seems to not only increase power but mpg also if drive normally

Your right for a big car they are great I've had small engined c class's (petrol) As loan cars and they do much less and the engines sound like hair dryers

I do your job, and had the IL6, and I'm driving the V6 now.

There isn't really much difference, though looking at my fuelly stats, the V6 has higher fuel consumption because I've been doing more town work in it.
