E320 or C220?

try and get the key thrown in with the deal.

its a shame to hear of a car being sold by a Mercedes main dealer that appears to be of the same transaction as you'd get from Joe Bloggs Car Sales on the high street. MB dealer selling a car that needs new tyres is pretty poor IMO. Why dont they get them changed (cheap for them) and just ask an extra £100 or so. the deal/car would look so much more attracted to a potential purchaser. same with the key.

Is it an actual main dealer? I have read comments of 'franchaised dealership'

If it is a main dealer then they are way, way out of order and should be reported to Mercedes-Benz UK? Thise tyres are a big no, no as it the key

i thought it was MB Loughton but appears that was another garage OP was going to vist.

i guess if its not a main MB dealer then if the car is ok apart from that then go for it and just get the tyres replaced yourself. maybe you could ask them to fit new tyres and pay them just their trade price as part of the deal?

I had to order a new key for my previous E55. Cost.... £185 + VAT!

Main dealer, need to show ID and original V5 doc even to just place the order.

I agree. Get haggling. Over £200 for a new Key. Tyres, approx £100 each and a nav disc is about £100 also. It's begining to add up...
However personally, I would have an E Class given the choice, and budget!

Right! Final decision: the car has problems: Sat NAv is really slow-ejecting DVD after few minutes and Say nav dies. Back seat leather was repaired...strange again. Dropped it down to £16k...but i had to say NO! Someone in here said: too many things are to look at ...and hes right !
Now i`m looking at another one.
MB Loughton had only one in stock e320 Sport, 57 plate, 17k miles ...but no comand @ £ 23999 ( isnt`t this a bit expensive ?? )
Found another one at 06 plate, 53k miles , in black,1 owner/2keys, new tyres Conti Sport ...mint condition! Full MB warranty and services and all the toys...for £ 15999. Is this a good price ??
I`m going to see it today at 3pm:)

Thanks again you guys !

Kind regards:)

You will always get folks that will say you have paid way over the odds!! That is going to happen, but if you have shopped around and found the exact car you want at a price that is competitive then go for it.

I would write down the exact specifications that you must have, the options you would like, but not too fussed and then stick to that.

Do NOT listen to the words that will flow from the sales person..

The car matching your specs is out there, it will just take time.

if you are buying from a Mercedes-Benz Main dealer then the car had better be immaculate or you should walk

Every Approved Used car has been meticulously checked inside and out, under the bonnet and on the road by a specialist Mercedes-Benz technician. When the technician signs the multi-point check sheet it is your guarantee that everything is in perfect working order.

ASK TO SEE THE MULTI-POINT CHECK SHEET.. Do not listen to any waffle, it should have one :)

Yes Sir ! Thank you ! I shall do that ! Keep you posted !
Im off to the other e320:)

Another question: E280 Sport vs E320 Sport. Any difference ? The engine seems to be the same and same specs...but e320 is bit more expensive.
Thanks

Iwould strongly recommend you try both and see what one you prefer.

Yes they are basically the same engine but one is breathed upon to give it the extra performance, only you will know what suits your driving style.

You`re right John ! Thanks again! Tested one today but i want my tealite :)

still looking for that e320cdi sport/56/57/58 Tealite, comand, phone prep, pan roof, harman kardon sound, heated seats and so on ... I called every MB dealer in UK for the past 4 weeks but nothing.
This is not fair at all...you want something so bad but you can`t get it....

Are there no cars, are is there no cars in your price range?

You have opted for some very nice specs and all credit to you for not going for either black, or silver cars :)

Very rarelly do you see the fully specced cars around, normally (if you have a long list like most of us do :o) you find there is always 1 or 2 things missing.

I'd say there are probably not too many E's out there with a panoramic roof  So this may be an issue for you (expecailly if you're after a specific colour!)

In fact as the colour is so unusual I wouldn't be that surprised if there actually isn't a car with everything you want in that colour in the country!

Price range is £15-£30k. Silver? never ! Black is my c180k sport. Wanted a change. If not i shall an e55 amg but again...hard to find.
What about e350 sport , petrol, 55 reg, fully loaded, at 49k miles for £19000? Is it worth it ?
Thanks

I have just bought a 2005 E350 Avantgarde 'Tealite' with COMAND, pan roof, phone prep, hk Logic 7 12-spks sounds system, heated seats from a MB dealer with 1 yr full MB warranty for £14k.

The E350 is really nice and the acceleration is quite fast between 50-70mph.

I drove 150 miles to find this car and struck a deal to have it delivered to my home. SO if you prepare to drive a bit longer distance, you may find the car with the specs you wanted.

The E350 is being prep - just couldn't wait to see it in my drive soon.

One question when I bought the car, the MB garage asks if I want the car to be 'Star Gard' for £349. Just wonder if its worth it maybe I can ask them to do it while its being prep?

Cool! Tested an e350 Sport this weekend and loved it . 56 plate,38k miles...lots of toys, pan roof, phone hk and so on ...but in silver and had to say no.
I`m willing to go even to Scotland. Done that all the time :)
Just wonder hows the e class...:)
