I have an E320 Sport (2007) 66,000 miles

If you give it a bit of welly it throws out black smoke which I guess you get from most diesel cars...

If I leave the car just ticking over for 10 minutes or so and then drive off it throws out quite a lot of black smoke for the next few minutes (I guess this has been building up in the exhaust)

What could be the issue here?
It has recently been serviced which has made no difference

I'm no expert on dervs but black smoke normally means over fuelling.

I also have a 320 Sport of late 2007 Vintage.

Mine is on a barely run in 94K and doesn't smoke at all on Full Bore throttle.

I notice you mention 'Brabus' in your Avatar description, is it running a D6 box-O-trix?

No, it doesn't have a "brabus box" - well not that I have found... it's not in the usual place so I guess not!

I think it just has the Brabus "pretty bits" and exhaust

If it was supplied originally as a Brabus car, it might have been remapped by Brabus. If that's the case, it may well smoke a bit more than normal.

It does seem a bit lively but not driven another 320 to compare it to..

How would I find out if it was remapped by Brabus? Don't they usually just plug a box on?

Have you seen the data sheet for the car? That might give you a clue. The Brabus box (I thought) was intended as an upgrade that almost anyone could fit. If your car came from the factory as a Brabus model, I would have thought that a remap would have been the preferred option. You could always email Brabus and ask them, they're quite responsive!
