E350 CDI Starting Problem

Hi all i wonder if you could help me with diagnosing a problem with my car. Its a 2010 E350 CDI. In the cold weather it has been getting progressively harder to start in the morning, maybe taking 4 attempts to start. The glow plug light has also started to flash regularly or stay on constantly during a journey but not always.

I bought a second hand glow plug relay unit which was apparently working OK and tried this on but it didn't make any difference. Im not sure if the part is perhaps also faulty or if they isn't the problem.

I had the car put on a diagnostics machine and it gave the following error code:

Fault code 13C700 Component N14/3 glow output stage has a malfunction.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like the glow plug relay , mine had the same issue as yours a month or so ago.

£120 from my local indy ,who ran the diagnostics, and i fitted it in 20 mins.

Problem solved.

Check the plugs with a meter in situ. I thought my relay was goosed but turned out to be a plug so I've now got 6 new plugs and a relay doh.
