e36 coupe?

You'd need the vin number to check for sure. The alloys are almost certinaly a staggered set from a w202, which aren't original to the car.

I would suspect the dealer doesn't have a clue, as evidenced by them listing nonsense such as "Sports seats", "Folding rear seats", "Traction control" and "Parking aid"

They probably just thought, AMG wheels? it must be an E36.

Possibly E36 with non AMG body kit , which I believe existed ? If VIN/datacard reveals 957 code AMG package then it sounds a good starting price, compared to ones that were at Avantgarde were asking £12k and double the mileage.

yes is possible without amg body kit or rear exhaust box ,if the vin nr match a 3.6l then is real.

My friend has bought an e36 coupe last month. It has no kit too, the only visual indication that it is an amg is the monoblocks and the e36 + amg badge at the back. These cars look uber cool with the amg kit can't understand why the first owner would buy the amg without specifying the kit.

It's got the upgraded driver's airbag too which is nice.

Were the gear levers ever like that and if they weren't the buyer should try and get the E36 one with the car.

Something doesn't seem right about that car. A real or genuine E36 would be listed as 3606cc on the logbook, not 3600cc. All genuine E36 car's came with the E36 gear lever too, even if they didn't have the AMG bodykit or whatever else.

I think this one has been converted at a later date from a E320.

that's correct!;)

The DVLA have it listed as 3606cc, so it's probably a genuine car. It certainly sounds like that having had just the one owner and full history with 17 stamps plus the original owners books etc :thumb:

Always better to do your homework before jumping to conclusions that it's not the real deal. The only thing non-original I can see is the gearshift which is hardly unusual as per many members cars on here too (I'd keep it original if it were mine though!)

With these cars being so rare a 50k miler/one-owner E36 coupé for under £10k seems like decent value to me and worth a look :)
