I cant afford the E55 right now so what about the E36? For me it has the right colours, black outside, black leathers,

look at the listing and tell me if anything looks dodgy because right now I have AMG tinted glasses on and I may have overlooked somthing.

cheers guys, have a dancing banana for the effort

:bannana:

update, just payed for the Vehicle Status Report you can get on ebay and its all looking good, valued at £9,425,

ok, let help you out a little

service history- when the last service was done ?
- what parts have been changed recently?
- scratches or dents? (cant always see them in the picture)
- condition of alloys\tyres

all depends what the bidding goes up to, but up to £5.5k its a bargain, up to £7.5k it reasonable, anything above that forget it!

also ask if Cat rattles, aircon is working, gear changes smoothly, any clunking when doing full locks.

All this is the same problems encountered on the C36, and as the E36 is a heavier car, it will batter the suspension items slightly harder.

also ask why the owner is selling and how long he has had it for.

good luck!

No joke...but one of your greatest fears should also be rust....especially the tops of the doors and the front cross-member.

Hopefully if its an early 97, it should still have proper paint, ie solvent based paint rather than the water based paints introduced that year, which were rubbish.

If its an early 97, the rust, should be far less of an issue.

oh yeah, damb.. the rust issue

yeah I have a W210 so I am pretty aware where to look, boot lock, any stone chips on the front that have gone rusty and all the wheel arches etc.

Also at 73,000 miles I assume the next service is 80,000, whats happens here? chains etc??

If the car has been well maintained your shouldn't have to worry about chains for a very long time....ie you should be able to get at least 150,000 out of the engine if not more.....a tell tale rattle on start up gives the game away.
