Hi. My 2004 55 needs new OSF bottom arm this the one with ball joint as it is creaking. You can hear it when on a lift and you pull on it. I tried the wd40 trick but noise came back after a day. Merc want £140 for one.. Eurocarparts want £70. Would it be OK to change one side as the other side seems solid. And which one to go for. Euro one comes with year warranty.. And I'm told OEM quality??

Get the Lemforder arm from ECP.
Many forum members, me included, have had no problems with them and one side at a time is fine.

Lemforder are a very good brand so no worries there.

Personally I always change arms in pairs on the basis they are the same age. But then again Im bit OCD when it comes to these things.

If it was the wifes car I would just change the arm that was causing the noise. Or tell her the noise was in her mind :)

Just change one, sods law... something else will break if you replace the other side as well.

I have just changed my O/S/F lower ball joint, I was going to replace the other side but it was still solid... If it ain't broken, don't fix it.

I always go OEM for me.

just go with the lemforder one.

MB supply the large bush separately for some reason and if that's not put into the arm correctly can cause problems. Lemforder the bush is already there.
