E55k alternator Bosch or Lucas?

Hi all my 2004 E55 alternator has gone pop... euro car parts only have Lucas ones, is the original one on the car a Bosch unit??? Does it make a difference in terms of fitment reliability etc.. or is it best to get original one from MB??

Like most ancilliaries these are generic parts bought in by the manufacturer. They are not specific to any car so go with the Lucas.

Get in touch with merc85 on the forum. He sold me a brand new Bosch alternator for my previous E55 for a good price and delivered within 2 days.

Can’t you just get the rectifier pack from Mercedes on these?
