E55K AMG mild modications

Paul, do you know the torque specs for the bolts holding the plenums?

:wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

That's how things are going right now, have managed to get everything to fit although its a very tight fit.

The shop I used did a great job in getting the TB to fit but only just, they had to weld and shape a new offset intake.

The supercharger needed a cnc spacer as some of the bolts would not align. This caused a number of clearance issues including the looped fuel rail and injectors as well as the clutch pulley. Spent most of the day working through these and after a long day everything finally fitted!

The bads news is a long list of errors, slowly been working through them and only down to 2. One is basically that there is a vacuum problem the other is showing as faulty throttle body :fail

There are a couple of things I can try but thought I would leave it for tomorrow that way I can go to bed in hope rather than desperation!

But it is up and running........

I could not get it to work with the 90mm TB so had to be satisfied with an 82mm

After 3 days I ache all over especially my head, i will regroup my thoughts on how to get it all to work for the summer :D

Let's hope it was all worth it.

They look great, to be honest not really that happy with the finish on mine. Will probably do them again during the summer, might try your heat gun option :D

No go faster parts but car was treated to a thorough wash, machine polish and waxed with Swissvax Crystal Rock. Just my luck that it rained before I could put the car away :wallbash:

However the close up photo's were taken 30 mins after the rain shower so the wax seemed to do its job well

I was amazed that the bonnet came out like this after the rain shower :bannana:

How did you get the exhaust to come up like that?

Have been working on them for a few months on and off, Rashman gave me some tips and got them to a reasonable state then I used a sealant from Zaino called Z-CS Clear Seal. I can now just spray on some Bilberry juice before I wash the car and wipe them.

There is a big but coming though................. I have to admit that today's treatment was by detailer. He used a metal polish by Mothers and then pulled out the same sealant that I use from Zaino.

My car has never looked as good as it does today at any point since I have owned it and I try to keep it in a reasonable condition.

looking slick paul, best ive seen her!
