Nothing wrong with the plate, but it does have massive spec.
These engines can suffer from head bolt issues which could stretch and fail. It's a $10-15k job here in the UK to fix it before it breaks.
As far as cheap AMG's go. My W210 E55 was Toyota reliable. The S55K that I had after it was also pretty solid, although I had to go into the suspension a few times.
Possibly a good car for someone who is not too bothered by the mileage.
If it suffered from bad head bolts wouldn’t it have appeared in the 13 years and 160k miles?
