AMG E63 S212
Went to give the car a really good clean and noticed that the roof seal on one side has sections that have rotted out. No leaks as of now.
Is this a known fault on 2014 E63 pano roofs?thumbnail (8).jpegthumbnail.jpeg

That’s dreadful !
Has MB been servicing the car , because they should be doing a regular pano roof seal treatment as part of that (I think )

Dreadful !!! they aren’t even that good, looks like something has been gnawing on them.

Not sure they do, I think they are only supposed to clean and grease the workings/mechanism.

I was thinking if they had just done that on a service , there would have been a good question of why the F didn’t you mention the state of the seals ?

Every time I took my E63 in for a main dealer service, I got a video showing an inspection of the car and pointing out any visible faults.
As above, I agree I believe the panoramic roof mechanism is only inspected and the rails greased on a certain mileage/age related services.
If noticed, the condition of the roof seals should have been pointed out.
I bet those seals will be costly to replace.

The car is going into MB on 8th October for steering rack bolts, they will also examine the seals. It has had a full MB service till 2023 and then Indy. The seals have not been got at by birds or any other animal. All my previous cars have either had a sunroof or a panoroof, none have suffered with perished seals.
