Early W126 - Best Oil To Use?

Just going to do first oil change on my 1981 280se......wondering what type of oil to use. The handbook recommends a few grades. Is castrol GTX 10w/40 a good bet?

I would think for your climate that is perfect. My mechanic recommended
20W-50 because of the climate. How do you like your car? I love mine. Would not change a thing !

I reckon that Fuchs [mercedes factory fill] XTR 10W40 Fuchs TITAN XTR 10W/40 High Performance Semi-Synthetic Engine Oil or Millers XSS 10W40 Millers Oils are a better 10w40 that they stay in grade longer then Castrol GTX. [greater synthetic content ] Plus you get 5 litres instead of 4 litres for similar money
