Ebay W124 AMG Estate now on Pistonheads

Dee:The ones he listed later were black leather and he wanted £700
They'd be good for someone with black interior car though

Around that would be my limit for seats that need trimming as the way I see it, id rather pay a premium to have seats with brand new fresh leather in the correct colour that are ready to ship..

I think I counted three cylinder head gaskets in the history when I saw it three years ago

Been through all the history today and its looking pretty good.
There was only one rebuild and that was the complete engine. They used the specific AMG pistons, gaskets etc and was done at a local (to me) garage back in the early 00's.
Apart from that, there has been substantial work but the head seems to have been off only once.
I spoke to Chas at the SEC shop and he also backed up that the car ran very well but just had the usual M104 things like chain tensioners, dizzie caps etc...

The car has had transmission services countless number of times and this must explain why it shifts better than any older Mercedes ive driven. Cant even feel the changes.

Overall the history gives me confidence in the car as I was having visions of me stuck half way down france with coolant in the oil.

Today the car has gone to the bodyshop for a full going over... once its back the work starts to get it how it should be!

I need a diff though as its noisy, anyone got one? I may have to get this one refurbed..

Yes. It was on the m e r c s e l l e r site for quite a long time a couple of years ago when a friend was looking for an interesting estate to replace his moneypit S6 Avant.

We went down to see it one Saturday morning. TBH it was pretty underwhelming. Lots of rust in the bonnet, tailgate & wings & it generally seemed a bit tired and unloved. It seemed a car which had been unused for long periods. Performance wasn't a hell of a lot different to a standard E320, though it did sound nice. I forget what the bloke wanted for it (7ish sounds about right) but after totting up the work required & the general feel of the car my friend decided to keep looking. It sounds like whoever bought it has put some money into it since.

Yes the bodywork has been seen to but I'm not happy with the finish on certain panels and rust is starting again in the arches so it will be done properly once and for all.

Yes it's no rocket but the power is high in the rev range, reminds me of a vtec Honda engine.

what was the strike price
