Good morning everyone, I've not long had my c250 I've noticed the eco light for the stop start is yellow more than green and the engine doesn't stop and start in yellow. Is this normal many thanks

Yep, it's normal. It's yellow when it considers there's not enough in the battery to run the ECO system.

One example, I'd parked to take a phone call, and the engine cut, as it should, but the aircon continued to run, fans etc.

The phone call was longer than expected, and suddenly, the system must have thought I'd taken enough out of the battery, so it switched the ECO icon to yellow, and started the engine!

(this is why, in the manual, it says not to leave the vehicle unattended when ECO has stopped the engine, as it can restart unexpectedly)

That's not very good
On the Kia releasing the seat belt or opening the door disables the restart.
Also lots of 'hidden' reasons for the engine not to stop. Air set to screen, aircon on max, cabin temp too high with cooling on are just a few.

These may also be features on the MB, too, I just answered the OP's question as best I could, without reverting to the exhortation to RTFM!
