as title, my car is making a really weird whining noise when revving, it sounded like it was from the egr valve, so we disconnected the plug on the egr and the noise when. any idea what this could be and is a egr delete the best way around this.

The above thread shows how to electrically bypass the EGR valve.
I did this a few years back. I have noticed no difference in performance except it does take longer to heat up. I have no black smoke out of my exhaust.
The only problem I have is last year in the warmer weather I got a P0101 code and limp mode so I changed my MAF to no avail. I had to remove the shunt and the car fixed itself but I started to get the smoke again.
In September I reapplied the shunt and cleaned the EGR valve and all good now.
I think I may have to adjust the values of some of the components in the warmer weather.

I noticed there was some exhaust smoke in the engine bay, and pinpointed it to the elbow that goes from the egr to the exhaust, this was removed to do the inlet and the original gaskets were used. Any chances that the noise could be from there ?
