egr mod

afternoon guys,
in a bid to cure the plumes of black smoke out of my ml ive just fitted the egr mod/shunt found on here and other sites,its helped the smoking a bit but the difference its made to the drivability is amazing.
I had noticed it being a bit sluggish while pottering around and a bit lumpy at idle but after a 10 minute run up the motorway its like a different car,lovely and smooth at idle and picks up a lot better from standstill.
So looks like my last option now is the injectors in the bid to cure the smoking.

just been out to east coast to collect new pooch,220 mile round trip,took 28 litres to brim it when we got back which works out at 35 mpg i think,so mpg a lot better after mod aswell,

What EGR mod?

it piggy backs into the egr transducer (i think its called that) and maf it then fools the ecu and stops the egr opening so now no exhaust gasses in inlet manifold,only clean air.

Is this mod available to buy and is it diy. I would like to try this on my car. Thanks in adance

there is one available on ebay from a chap in lithuania for £100,but the details are on here and another merc site on how to diy it for a couple of quid.
