Guys, thought you may be interested!
I was having a chat with a service technician at Tony Purslows in Guildford regarding road holding and cornering of an SL after I had had the Eibach springs fitted. His experience was that the springs were a good first step but the rear track width also made a big difference in improving cornering so I thought for £85 I would give the +50mm Eibach spacers a go.
Well, the result is that the car turns in much quicker now and seems to corner much flatter than it did previously. So together with the springs, the cornering is much improved over stock and also makes the car look a bit better IMHO
We discussed shocks at length but we concluded that for our 'quality' UK roads it was best to stick with the stock shocks especially as the new springs do stiffen things up a fraction.
