(Should have posted this here first, I think. Ooops)

Evenin' all. The old girl ('98 E55 AMG estate) needs a new aircon condenser, and ECP have a good deal on at present on an EIS aftermarket item. It's not a name I recognise, though. Would anyone have any comments, for or against, or care to recommend a good make if you so wish?

Thank you in advance.

Hi!

The EIS range is exclusive to Us, so hopefully you wont find much (if any) negative feedback. Its designed to offer customer a cheaper alternative to an OE supplier such as Hella or Valeo etc...

Both parts would come with the standard 12 month guarantee, however the EIS range have an excellent low returns rate!

Eurocarparts, I'm inclined to try the EIS. Only one question, though: you have part nos. 222220380 and 222220381 listed for my car (1998 E-class 5.4 litre petrol), at slightly different prices; presumably they're not identical, so please can you tell me the difference between them?

Enter CP10LESS and get an additional tenner off.

I'd be wary about fitting own label pretend branded condensers given the cost of fitting and regassing if things go pearshaped.

Thanks Nick. I take your point, but if it did go t*ts-up, fitting is easy, and costs me nothing (other than two O-rings) because I do my own spannering, and regassing isn't overly pricey. Mainly, though, if Olly reckons they're OK, that's a pretty good plus point for them.

I'll wait to see what ECP tells me about the two part numbers; I can get a Hella off t'Bay for about £110 delivered.

I dunno, we always go for the better brand as we have found Eis stuff not to fit that well... brackets etc always seem to need bending, holes aligning etc.

For us its too much work to fit a condensor to even risk using non OEM parts.

Hi mate!

they are actually the same application -

222220380 is actually a Delphi unit - incorrectly listed as EIS
222220381 is our own EIS unit

Hope that helps!
