This should be an easy one. Can anyone advise me how to disconnect the electrical connectors please. I have pushed it, pulled it & wriggled it about but it stays connected, there must be a secret.

Which model and which connector might help get a specific answer.
However most connectors of this type have a tag on the Female or Male connector which needs pressing in with a finger or a screwdriver depending on type.
This needs holding in whilst the connector is pulled apart.
If it is the electrical connectors on the back of the dash there is a lever which has to be rotated through about 90 degrees to release them, IIRC they are on the centre side.
I find that the use of a stout pair of wire cutters does the trick mind you connecting things up again can be a bit tricky.------ PICTURE OF THE OFFENDING CONNECTOR IN QUESTION WOULD HELP---??
Thanks very much for the replies. I have got the connector apart! It was the limit switch for the luggage cover in a W208 cabriolet. As sinewave advised there is a tiny tag or raised pimple in the middle of the connector, pushing this in with a small screwdriver and at the same time wriggling the connector around got it apart. I have parked tinker's reply for the future & thanks also grober, the wire cutters were close to hand!
