Is it possible to retrofit electric seats to my B Class? Is it also possible to fit other than W245 seats, i.e. W211 as I believe the electrical switches are part of the seat and not mounted on the door.

Were they an option on the B class? - I'd suggest that anything is possible if you're willing to commit time and money to it, but it's probably easier if the provision for electric seats was already there.

Is it really worth lugging around nearly 80kg for these though? Unless your always swapping driver, there's little point...

As far as I'm aware, there are two sets of W211 electric seats, partial and full electric. One has the full controls mounted on the door card including sliding forward and backwards. The partial one has electric tilt and up and down controls on the seats and then manual lever for front and back.

Whether or not they can be retrofitted I have no idea. But I imagine the partial electric one would be way less hassle out of the two.

Yeh, I was fully aware OP has a B class, however OP was also asking if seats from other chassis' would fit, and used seats from the W211 platform as an example. Or at least that's how I understood it :thumb:

Good point and well made

:D

In that case, are there three types of seats because you've also got the ones with pneumatic adjustment of the cushions?

The W245 electric seat is self contained - you will have to add the power wiring though.

BUT, use W245 seats. Maybe W169 seat is same, but I don't know for sure.

Cheers

Richard

Thanks for the replies, the weight bit I didn't even consider, 80kgs is a lot. I was just looking at ways to "improve" my car, if you have any suggestions, polite please :D
