Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had a great Xmas.

Before Xmas I had the oil cooler seals done on my E350 Cdi Coupe. Since then the Thermostat has packed up not as a result of previous work but I guess due to the milage of the car (144k).

When I replaced the thermostat today I found a connector tucked under where the thermostat is situated but can't find where it is supposed to go to.

Does anyone know if Mercedes used a generic wiring harness for the OM642 engine or knows where that connector is supposed to go to??

Any help appreciated, pics below. IMG_3470.jpgIMG_3471 2.jpg

Hi I have the v6 120 cdi vito, but I to have this
connection on the harness, I have a black plug
in the end to plug off so it goes no where on
my van. hopefully someone technical will help you.

Mercedes often have "redundant" plugs in their wiring looms- they are there for test purposes or certain optional equipment-[often emission related] for certain markets other than the UK. Should perhaps have originally been capped off as Vitomug suggests in his post. The abrasion and oil staining on the blue section of the plug would suggest its been that way for some time. In the absence of anything to plug into in the vicinity and no warning lights probably nothing to worry about.
