Engine Fault?

I had just started my journey back to Preston from Newcastle when first the Tyre Inflation showed that it was no longer working, then the Stability control stopped working, followed by the Traction control. This was followed by a sudden loss of power and all system going down. I stopped the car on the hard shoulder and the engine stalled. I restarted the engine and although the Engine Management light was showing AMBER the car was ok for a further 30 miles. The same thing happened again. Car was restarted and all was on for the rest of the journey (100 miles), but Engine Management light was still showing AMBER. I stopped a the firm for 30 mins or so and came back to the car ready to go home. ALL IS OK, NO ENGINE LIGHT? Any thoughts would be very welcome!

Yeah, too much fuel pressure at the fuel rail can put the car into limp mode.

I suspect either the tyre pressure is too low on one wheel which would make one wheel make a rotation faster or slower than the opposite wheel? or you have a wheel bearing on its way out and the speed sensor ring is a fraction of a millimetre away from the pick up.. Basically your issue is caused by the incorrect readings (different speeds from one wheel) so the car is picking up irregular speeds or out of range speeds that don't fall into the acceptable range of the ecu and so it shuts it down for safety and you will lose ABS ESP and if auto you will lose most of the gears, the car will go into limp mode you may also lose speedo?
