Hi Folks,

I've just started my CLK 320 (208), it turned over for a few seconds before firing up. Once started the engine management light was on. I switched the engine off and restarted with no delay - EM light still on - drives OK.

Looking on other posts, I couldn't find the same thing but from what info I could find was -- the computer detected a fault with starting which corrected itself -- Am I correct in understanding that the EM light will turn off on it's own or will I need to take it to be turned off.

Cheers Gazza9911

You need to get it plugged into a Star to see what the cause of the light is.

Hi All,

Again folk answering differant questions that have been asked, the question asked was: Am I correct in understanding that the EM light will turn off on it's own or will I need to take it to be turned off.

 But the answer to my question is: Yes the EM light WILL reset itself (as it has). I know that I need to get it plugged into Star to find out what caused the light to come on.

Cheers

Not all engine warning lights do. It very much depends on the fault hence why I said it needs to be plugged in.
