coming back work as usual driving down the m6 and the engine management light came on few moments later it went off, then came back on and stayed, I`ve checked the handbook and it seems the fault is either the fuel injector or the exaust, the car is less than 2 years old, would this fault be covered considering the car has done less than 18,000 miles, or is it classed as wear and tear , anyway Ive called mobilo who seem more than keen to come out, I`m just puzzled that mercedes might land me with a big bill, any views would be greatfull!

Go for the Mobilo call out - If the car has been serviced as per their rules and regs it will cost you nothing. They will interrogate your car with a laptop and the cause of the fault will be displayed. If the fault has rectified itself they will reset the light for you - all free. The reason I am going down this path is my engine management light came on and wouldn't stay off the day after I bought the car straight out the wrapper. After interrogation it showed up as a coil in one of the injectors having had a wobbly. Covered 26k miles since then with no recurrence. Made me wonder at the time if this was the shape of things to come!
Also the light staying on might be the early warning you need. After all it should not come on for nothing.

yup - I agree. They can't do any work that would incur a charge without your prior approval so the least you'll get out of it is the diagnostic and Mobilo Life bods are great with MB specific tools and gear

I used the Mobilio call out and have nothing but praise for the service I received. I concur with everything that you have been told.

Good luck and please keep us updated,

Regards,
John

thankyou

thanks for the great response, car was taken last night by recovery team, and this morning national brought me a another c-lass whilst mine gets the mb treatment at the local stealers hopefully it will come back free of all faults I hope. Its due for a service in 1500 mile do u think its worth while asking for a goodwill on the servicing price or am i getting too greedy, any thoughts would be encouraging, cheers people
