Engine sometimes refusing to accelerate

On occasion I have found that the engine slows down of its own accord but then it is as if after a few seconds it will start to accelerate again. Is this a MAS problem or other problem ? Please advise

I wonder if your fuel pump is playing up?

Good thinking batman, will ask the indy to have a look at it for me.

Are these things expensive?

I wouldn't think they are too expensive, might be worth checking the wiring or the fuel pump relay first.
